[Harp-L] Greunling/Guyger Tour last Friday night

Been lurking around the list for a couple of months now and figured it was
about time to speak up. Saw Dennis and Steve at the Towne Crier in Pawling NY
on Friday night. It's a big room for a small club. Volume was perfect but of
course I was smart enough not to sit first row center. Dennis was playing out
of his 6 x 10 Harpking and Steve was using an old Fender. For the most part,
both used Astatic shells with who knows what inside.

It was the first time that I had seen either of them live and frankly, I
don't know what I was waiting for. They both interpreted Little Walters material
beautifully, using his phrasing and riffs as a starting point for their own
voices. The way they played off each other was exceptional, trading riffs and
giving each other plenty of space. It could easily be seen how much they
admired and respected each others work.

2 sets of pure blues harp bliss... and it doesn't get any better than that
for me.

If you get a chance to see them, you will not be disappointed.

George
